The Sayings of Hazrat Ali (r.a)
The forth caliph of Holy Prophet (s.a.w)
"A true believer is one whose face wears a smile even though his heart is distressed."
(Hazrat Ali )(r.a)
Fear God and you will have no cause to fear anyone.
Lead such a life that when you die, people mourn you, and while you live , they long for your company.
The strongest amongst you is the one who subdues his self.
He who praises you murders you.
The tongue of a wise man lies behind his heart.
Speech is like medicine, a small dose of which cures, and an excess of which kills.
He who teaches you a letter, binds you with a fetter of gratitude.
Prayer is like a hot spring of water which flows at your door, and provides you the wherewithal for cleanliness.
The days of life pass as the passing of clouds on the sky; do good as long as you are alive.
There can be no body without a head, and so there can be no faith without patience.
He said about Gratitude to God:
By God! If for the love of God you melt your hearts away, and for the love of His rewards and fear of His punishment your eyes shed blood instead of tears and you live in this condition till this world lasts, even then your indefatigable and untiring efforts can be of no match for the numerous blessings which God has so kindly bestowed upon you.
The Word of God is the medicine of the heart.
We thank God for what He has taken, for what He has given;
for what kindness He has done, and what tests He has taken. He is aware of all that is hidden.
He knows every secret.
Whatever is concealed in one’s heart is known to Him. He is Omnipotent and Omniscient.
None is to be worshipped except Him.
He has no partner.
He has no parallel.
He is Unique.
He is Might, Majesty and Mercy.
He is our Creator.
We come from Him and we are to ultimately return to Him.
His bounties are unlimited.
Resignation to the will of God is the best policy.
Knowledge is the best inheritance.
Good conduct is the best ornament.
The best wealth is the suppression of desires.
The middle course is the best course.
When you succeed do not feel proud.
When you fail do not lose patience.
A true believer is one whose face wears a smile even though his heart is distressed.
One cannot trust two things, namely, wealth and health. You never know when they might forsake you.
Faith lies in preferring truth to falsehood even when the truth might lead to harm and falsehood might lead to any advantage.
He who seeks the world, death runs after him;
he who seeks the hereafter, the world runs after him.
Forgiveness is the zakaat of success.
If you wish to succeed in life, learn to forgive others.
The Bequest of Hazrat Ali (r.a)
Before his death he said:
I declare in my will that except for God there is no one to be worshipped.
He is Unique.
He has no partner.
Muhammad [peace be upon him] is His Prophet and Messenger whom He commissioned to give the people guidance through the religion of Islam.
Islam is the most perfect religion and it is destined to prevail over all other faiths.
All our prayers, our sacrifices, our life, our death, our everything is for God.
I require all my children and family members to fear God.
I wish that all of you should die in Islam.
Hold fast to the faith of Islam. Remain united, for according to the Prophet unity in ranks is better than prayers.
Be kind to your relatives so that Allah may be kind to you.
Remain steadfast in piety and resign yourself to the Will of God.
Never aspire to anything which is beyond your reach.
Be truthful always.
Be kind to the orphans and in their affairs fear God.
See that in your presence they are not overcome by any anxiety or care.
Be mindful of God in respect of the rights of your neighbours over you.
Follow the Quran in letter and spirit, and see that nothing takes precedence over the observation of the injunctions of the Quran. In matters of prayer be very particular for it is the basic pillar of Islam.
Fear Allah in the matter of zakaat for it extinguishes the wrath of God.
Fear God in respect of your regard for the companions of the Prophet for the Prophet made particular mention of them in his will.
Fear Allah in the matter of the poor and the needy.
Make them share your wealth. Fulfill your obligations. Do not be afraid of those who disparage your religion. If they wish to harm you, Allah will be enough to protect you.
Try to live in the world in a way which might help it to become better.
Stop the tyrant from oppression.
Act upon the commandments of God.
Face the realities of life with courage and fortitude.
Help each other in the doing of good.
May God be merciful to all who belong to the House of the Holy Prophet.
I entrust you to the protection of God.
A PRAYER BY HAZRAT ALI r.a
O God, forgive me my sins of which you are more aware than me.
And if I commit these sins again, even then forgive me.
Whatever promises I had made with myself to follow your commands have not been fulfilled.
I seek your forbearance.
If I have sought your proximity with my tongue, but my heart did not keep pace with my tongue, overlook my lapse.
O God, forgive me for my futile talk, vain desires and lapses of the tongue.

Sayings of Ghous-e-azam (r.z)
The sign of a Wali is conspicuous by his total reliance on ALLAH,making him independent from the creation because,in every instance,he seeks the help of ALLAH alone.
The sign of a Believer is that he makes genuine efforts to earn a halaal livelihood instead of remaining idle and relying upon Fate.In this manner his efforts would reap sustenance as well as rewards and even if there is not much success in attracting sustenance,he would still earn the full rewards.
Divorce the world from the heart and place it upon your hands i.e. acquire the riches of the world but let that not overpower or affect the heart:wealth can come and go but its acquisition, accumulation and safeguard should not become the supreme purpose or essence of our lives.
Do not harbour the hopes of becoming wealthy.
Only such advise is fruitful which emanates from a tongue of practice.
You eat your fill whilst your neighbour remains hungry, and yet you claim to be a muslim.
Always perform your salaah as if its the last salaah one would ever be able to make on earth.
Do not employ DEEN and RELIGION as the means of earning your livelihood.
If u sit in the company of the ignorant then their ignorance will envelop you.
How can that person be a teacher to others,When he is not able to teach(control)his nafs.
The first thing, which a man of intelligence should see the condition and composition of his own self and then all the creations and inventions.
A momin leaves his family and children in the care of ALLAH and the munafiq(hypocrite)leaves his family and children in the care of his wealth.
Worldly people run behind the Duniya(world)while the Duniya(world)runs behind those who seek ALLAH.
(thanks with ashra786.proboad.com) Utterances Of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam Radiallahu Anh – The Practice of Pious Restraint Pious restraint is the practice of approaching everything with caution, and refraining from undertaking anything without permission from the Sacred Law. If a proposed action is found to be in accordance with the Sacred Law, or a potential acquisition is found to be compatible therewith, well and good.
If such is not the case, however, it is necessary to abstain.
Pious restraint falls into three distinct categories, on three different levels:
The pious restraint of the common people, which means taking care to abstain from that which is strictly unlawful and that which is of dubious legality.
The pious restraint of the elite, which means taking care to abstain from everything that excites the lustful appetite of the lower self and the passions.
The pious restraint of the elite of the elite, which means taking care to abstain from everything that involves their self-will.
If a person fails to pay due attention to the subtle details of pious restraint, he will not receive the precious gifts that it can bring.
Abstinence is the beginning of pious restraint, just as moderation is the road to contentment.
Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is reported as saying, “The foundation of religion is pious restraint and its destruction is greed.
Anyone who hovers around a forbidden zone is liable to drop into it, just as an animal grazing next to a corn field is liable to stretch its mouth towards it, so the crops are hardly safe from the animal.”
It is reported that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) once said, “We used to avoid seventy doors of the permissible for fear of falling into sin,” while Hazrat Umar Farooq (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) once said, “We used to abstain from nine tenths of the lawful for fear of falling into the unlawful.”
They acted like this as a precaution against getting too close to what is unlawful, heeding the words of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), “Every king has a forbidden zone and Allah’s forbidden zone is that of His unlawful things.
Anyone who hovers around that zone is liable to fall into it.”
For pious restraint to be complete, the practitioner must cultivate the following habits, imposing them on his lower self as a matter of strict duty:
Keeping the tongue from backbiting, in compliance with the words of Allah Ta’ala:
“And do not backbite one another.” [Surah 49, Verse 12]
Refrain from mockery on account of His words:
“Let not some men among you scoff at other men. Perhaps they may be better than those who scoff.” [Surah 49, Verse 11]
Keeping the eyes modestly downcast in the presence of forbidden objects, in accordance with His words:
“Order the Muslim men to lower down their sights.” [Surah 24, Verse 30] Speaking with a truthful tongue, in obedience to His words:
“And when you speak, observe justice.” [Surah 6, Verse 152] In other words you must mean what you say.
He must acknowledge the gracious favour of Allah Ta’ala, s as not to take pride in himself, in keeping with His words:
“Allah has conferred a favour upon you in that He has guided you to Islam.” [Surah 49, Verse 17]
He must spend his wealth to further the cause of the Truth, not on the promotion of falsehood, in accordance with His words:
“And those who when they expend neither exceed the limit nor they are straitened and remain in between the two on the middle path.” [Surah 25, Verse 67]
That is to say, they do not spend on sinful disobedience, nor do they withhold from worshipful obedience.
He must not seek high and mighty status and grandeur for himself, on account of His words:
“This home of the Hereafter, We assign it to those who desire not exaltation in the earth, nor disorder.” [Surah 28, Verse 83]
Regular observance of the five daily ritual prayers at their prescribed times, in compliance with His words:
“Watch over all your prayers and (especially) the middle prayer and stand before Allah with true devotion.” [Surah 2, Verse 238]
Adherence to the Sunnah of the Beloved Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), in obedience to His words:
“And this is My straight path, so follow it.” [Surah 6, Verse 153]
May Allah Ta’ala grant us the Taufeeq to practice upon the words of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and to inculcate pious restraint within ourselves, Ameen.
